Using the Crazy Arrows fabric

I used Modern Jersey from Spoonflower to make the recently re-released Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress from Vogue. I highly recommend this fabric. It was very nice to work with, especially as I needed to rip everything apart a couple of times to get a good fit. After my final fitting, I decided that wrapping the left side over the right was best for me and therefore ripped out the slit at the waist on the right side and sewed it up. I also need to adjust the sleeves by almost 3” at the wrist – which also meant re-cutting the cuffs and sleeve facings.

Figuring out the best way to insert the pockets and still keep the holes for the waist ties was tricky. It took me three tries to get it right. The things I do for pockets!

I’m very happy with the way the dress came out. I think that this print works well with the dress design. I’m a big fan of orange and this combination really made me happy.
