I had a piece of beautiful, embroidered ribbon that was the inspiration for making this dress. I bought a gorgeous piece of embroidered tulle from China that I thought would go perfectly with the ribbon. I only had a limited amount of the embroidered fabric so I combined the bodice of View B with the skirt of View A. Since my fabric was sheer, I also made a slip to wear underneath. I just made a simple modern slip out of power mesh.

Unfortunately, I did not measure correctly when cutting out the pattern and the bodice was too short on me, so I added a waistband. I used an invisible zipper in the side closing.

I love the way the dress came out. I think the ribbon trim is highlighted and the embroidery on the dress works well with it. The sheerness of the fabric does distract from the neckline and the facing is a little annoying, but all in all, I think it is a successful make.
